Ive had this sunset monti frag for a few months now and everything seemed great until just recently.

The frag over night had a white spot come up on it and now its not looking good. I tested my water yesterday (api)
Alk =8
Ca =460
Nitrates =0
Phosphates near 0
Salinity 1.026

The tank is a 54 gallon and a 30 gallon sump/fuge. Its been running for 6 months.

The tank has 2 -144w led fixtures with each having a 1:1 b:w leds. I run the blues at 100% for 10 hours and the whites at 45 % ramp up for 8 hours.

Ive revently started dosing with kent purple up every 3 days and I feed oyster feast.

Ive also stopped running my skimmer as much . Now its every other day for 8 hours .

It was growing and starting to encrust on the rock but now the edges started looking unhealthy. Could my lights not be turnes up enough? I recently started backing down on my whites from 65 % ramp up.

Have you added any corals to the tank since it's introduction? Do you dip? Get a look at it at about three hours after lights out and see if any pests are on it.

It looked like made something ate a chunk out if it. I havent had this problem before but I have noticed a hairy hitchhiker crab lately

Monti is looking worse. Seems to be dying. :( could it be starving for light? Its near the bottom of the tank. It was growing there though already.

Checked my water again today. Nitrates are barely present, phosphates = 0 salinity was high last night 1.028 got it back down to 1.025 . Calciums levels are 480 + and alkalinity is about 7 dka. Could the alakalinity or higher salinity cause this ?

Dang it ive gotta hold off a few days to get my magnesium test kit. I believe the step grandparents hooked me up for xmas
