Sunset Monti

Sorry but this is the best pic I had of when I first received the frag 1 and 1/2 yrs ago and had to use a lil photo shop to get the color to come out. As you see I over adjusted a little. Got it from a local reefer and it was saveerly bleeching. In a year and a half it has colored up and grown out of control to a spot aprox 9" x 7". I've read alot about people ID'ing other specimens as Tyree so I'm not sure if this is or not.

I would also like to know if this will overgrow soft corals like zoanthids as I collect Zoas and it is approaching them.

Depends on placement, flow and your water conditions. Really luck of the draw. Right now I have a milli keeping a undata at bay (it's a super hairy milli) but in most cases the monti would out grow the acro. There really isn't a cut and dry answer. Unless you are talking GSP, then the answer is GSP wins ^_^ ;)

my sunset monti got overrun by zoas as well....but my rainbow monti has held its ground but is now "land locked"

My money is on the zoos. They will not be overgrown by a montipora

Well looks like zoo's will win. My concern is that the sunset is encroaching up the back side of the rock(where I cant really see well) right up to some zoas. It looks like the zoas arent liking it at all. A few are closed where they meet from what I can see.
