Super excited!!!

Hey guys and gals!! super excited because we ordered my d5200 last night! i cant wait to get it and start shooting, opted with a refurb model with the kit 18-55 and next week im ordering my prime, which will be the 35mm f1.8. So stoked!! then kimberli surprised me thismorning by ordering a class 10 32gig sd, and the book i wanted!

while were on books as above mentioned, what are a few other good books to get? she ordered me nikon d5200 from snapshots to great shots... i read reviews on it saying it was a great book for beginners.

Nature, my tank, long exposure, candid kind of shots, people. I've been getting my fix with my iPhone, got some nice shots with it but boy am I excited to have the full true abilities of a dslr and not some app that pretends to be one!!

Just the kit 18 to 55 until I get a macro lens. I have some pics posted with that lens and it's not bad. It does have a macro function, but not really made for macro if that makes sense?

I knew I should have started a D5200 club on here when I got mine!

Edit: I thought that Nikon D5200 Digital Field Guide was pretty good when I first started out. It was recommended by a few others, and came in handy - especially since it's tailored to the D5200 specifically.

If you're hunting for a Macro lens that does well on the Nikon and won't hurt the budget too much I can speak highly of the Tamron 90/2.8. My wife has had hers for a number of years now and it's a solid performer. I even used it for doing staff headshots for my place of employment. Nice lens.

So I got my camera! I absolutely love it! The kit lense doesn't take that bad of shots and I'll be ordering my 35mm prime soon as well. Love love love it!!! Now I just need a computer to do editing and the such! Lol

I am absolutely loving this camera! So glad i got it. So much learning on it, I'm really enjoying it. Can't wait to get my prime lense here in a week or two.

Nope. Of all the things I don't shoot my reefs are one. Since I scaled way down from my 100g I don't really mess with them much.
