supplier recommends 100G tank

I see a number of fish that the supplier recommends a 100G tank. What are the dimensions of a 100G. Its not a common size. The ones I have seen are custom builds and range in dimesions from cubes, to 4', to 6'. By suggestiong 100 gallon are they saying a 6' tank? Is a standard 4' 90g tank big enough?

Of course, it makes a big difference which supplier.

From what I remember they used to make 100 gallon glass tanks back in the day. My dad had one with FW discus. I think the dimensions were 6' x 18" x20" so I think they may be refering to the length when they state 100. But like snorvich stated it depends on the supplier.

What fish are you specifically looking at?

I would get 6' long
I am not looking to get a tank to fit a fish. I am putting fish into my 90G (4'). I want the tank to be satifactory to house the fish.

Divers den is the only place I buy fish from now. Had unpleasant experiances from other sources. DD has been premium quality/health.

I am looking to add a 2 bar rabbitfish to a 90g reef tank.
Current stock:
Bellus angel
Kole tang
Midas blenny
Mandarin dragonet

I agree with Greatwyte about sources for fish. The only existing fish that might be long term problematical (or problematic if you prefer) is the bellus angel as it really is a swimmer.
