Greetings all

This is the current supplies list that I've come up with for my new 24g 70W Aquapod. Please list any suggestions and recommendations that you think will help this setup. Please let me know if I left anything out. Thanks

Live Rock - How many LB?
Live Sand - How much sand?
Titanium Heater 100w for the tank. What heater should I get for mixing the salt?
Net
Salt Mix - Instant Ocean
5g Bucket
RO/DI - What's a good RO/DI unit for this size tank?
Maxi-Jet 900 - Will this be good enough or should I go with the 1200?
Portable Refractometer
Checktemp Pocket Thermometer
Salifart Testing Kits
Nimble

Which light contoller/timer item should I get? I heard the Coralife Power Center wasn't too geat. Should I buy a Hydorflow?; I will be using the Maxijet. I probably won't need a skimmer right away..right? When the time comes to get a skimmer, which one would work and fit best on this system? Thanks

Definetly go with the 1200
I have about 20 lbs of LR in my tank, you can see it in my gallery, I might put in some more
I didn't do the live sand but I've got 30 lbs of aragonite. In the end it depends on the fish.
Everything else looks good and keep us posted on your progress!
Oh, and since you've got an open top you might want to think about a protein skimmer.

Live Rock - I have about 25-30lbs
Live Sand - I have about 35 lbs
Titanium Heater 100w for the tank. I use a stealth
Net
Salt Mix - Instant OceanThis is what I like
RO/DI - What's a good RO/DI unit for this size tank? I use a culligan system at work!
Maxi-Jet 900 - Will this be good enough or should I go with the 1200?I replaced my stock pump with a mj1200 and dropped in a second behind the wall and plumbed over the wall with a Hydor on the end
Checktemp Pocket ThermometerJust don't get a coralife, mine sucks and is horribly inacurrate, it was reading 90 yesterday with the lights out and heater off!

I added a AquaC remora protein skimmer and it works great! HOB on the right side with another MJ1200 powering it.

I use a Coralife Power Center for my moons and MH and it works great.

I would go with the maxi jet 1200. I have the 900 and the stock pump on my 24 nano and I am going to replace the 900.

For salt I like the Tropic Marin Pro Reef.

As for the sand and rock it all depends on how you like it to look. I also took the black stuff off the back of the middle chamber, so I could put live rock and cheto in the middle chamber with a light on it.

I have 2 Cora life Digital Thermometers and have never had trouble with them. I have checked them against other thermometers and they are always close to the same temps.

newhere- What 24 nano do you have? Is it a pod? If so what exactly did you remove on the back for your fuge mod?

I have fuged the back but am having problems with getting adequate light for the cheato.

I have a JBJ 24 nano. And the back is covered with a vinyl type cover. Just take a razor blade and cut and peal it off. Then I picked up a coralife mini Aqualight 9ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ 18 watt and mounted it to the wall behind the tank. I am going to the store tomorrow I will see if the back covering is the same.

2x MJ1200's in a 24g? Is this too much flow? What are you keeping in your tank hypermike? any pics? How about 2x 900's? Thanks for da help guys!

I don't feel like it is too much flow, I have tried a few different set-ups with the two outputs. Splitting one with Loc-Line to two flare fittings and I felt that restricted the flow to much do to the loss of head pressure.

Currnently one is outputting to a Hydor and the other to an experimental DIY spray bar.

I am keeping mainly some softies, zoos, and LPS. I have noticed my Galaxy a lot happier since adding additional flow and placing him by the Hydor.

you can use 2 mj 900's and it only draws 17watts of power, 1 mj 1200 draws 20watts.

mj 900 = 230gph
mj 1200 = 295 gph
