Surface agitation

Hi there!

I've had my 25g tank going for a couple years. Last week I took out my aqua clear 70 for a hydor slim skim nano skimmer. The aqua clear would give me surface agitation as the water would fall into it and break up the surface. Now that I've removed the filter and just have my two power heads at opposing ends pointing at each other through the LR. Now there is water movement on the surface I can see the water moving in a circular pattern, what I'm wondering is if this is enough surface agitation or does the surface need to be broken up? Thanks in advance! [emoji1]

I find it nice to have some current directed towards your overflow/ skimmer to help get that film skimmed out

I've noticed when I have the surface "rolling", it evaporates quite fast, meaning it's getting a lot of air. When the powerheads don't hit the surface, I hardly have any evap

You should really point one towards the surface. The surface will always be moving, but it needs to be agitated more to promote gas exchange. You want to see some water being lifted, or "rolling" like the previous poster said.
