I was on vacation for a few weeks and the tank was seriously overfed, and then crashed. Some of the fish suffocated, and now it's currently cycling. However, it's looking better every day.
I have a siphon overflow on this tank that seems to collect surface scum. I occasionally try to skim it with a bowl when I do water changes, but what to people do about this? Can I use some floss and a sieve to take it off?
The overflow has a collection of scum as well. I've been using a turkey baster to suck out the scum because it floats and won't be taken up by the siphon.
