SW tank in MCS

My daughter teaches Pre K at Getwell Elem. She was a first time teacher last year and I got her hermit crabs for her classroom. The kids tired of them really fast. This year she wants a small sw tank, not over 10 gal. I know the club talked about this in the past. What is the club's thoughts in regard to setting up tanks in public schools? She will want a "Nemo" for sure and mostly softies and a few polyps, zoas, etc. I know she will have to bring the tank home over the summer, but what about over Christmas vacation. I am sure Nick can fix her up an ATO and we can get an auto feeder for her. Hopefully, Nick and I can get her into reeftanking!!! It just might become a family affair. Now go get my DH into it, nah fergetit!! LOL.

The WTMRAC Officiers just broached this subject again this last week.

The fast answer is: It sounds as is MCS and Shelby Co schools have backed away from any involvement regarding tanks, and put the responsibility squarely on the teachers, from a "Liability" standpoint.

That said, if someone WANTS to do it, I say we throw our support behind it.

Not sure about MS Schools in DeSoto Co.
