Sw Tanks And Computers.

anyone keep both in the same room. i moved 2months ago and now have the tanks and the computer in my office. has anyone noticed any effects on the comouters from this.

We have hundreds of gallons of SW in the same room as the computer. No problems that I know of.

i myself haven't either i was wondering about longterm effects with the sw and the circuitry of the computer. how long have you had it set up like this?

The current computer since last December. All of our tanks are covered to keep humidity very low.

i run both with sumps 29,75rr open top.

I run two computers in the same room as mine. Humidity is higher in that room than the rest of the house. I don't leave my CPU's running 24-7 anymore. If you leave them on, the extra humidity combined with the salt will cause corrosion.

Kevin Carpenters basement will attest to that. He runs a dehumidifier as well as an air exchanger to try and keep humidity down. He runs several computers and last time I checked there was rust all over them. Of course no one else is dealing with that much water in a room

Remember that the H2O evaporates from the tank. Very little salt does. It's the humidity that you worry about. You can get high humidity from moist basements and St. Louis weather in general. You don't need a tank for that.

true as a precaution i turn the cpu off when done, no longer 24-7 either. having a ceiling fan in there a good or bad thing.

I would think the ceiling fan would add to evaporation.

Never had a problem with mine and both my pc and laptop are in same room as two of my tanks. I do shutdown when not in use though.

I have my PC on 24/7 with my frag tank in the same room. Going on 9 months straight
