Why do you say that out of interest? i thought the golden spot on the heas indicated male and it can be seen on the bottom of the two. Yes it isn't particularly bright but that could be stress or maube immaturity.

Female lamarcks also have that yellow/golden spot (especially if the female is big). Here are the indications of a male lamarck:
1. the top black line not joining with the black outline on the bottom caudal fin (tail fin)
2. the pelvic fin is black (instead of clear/white in female).
3. related to #1 but the top black line is straight (not as curly)
4. male has ridiculously long streamers
I think #1 and #2 are the most obvious distinction.
