SWC 160 repacement pump needed

I have a used SWC 160 skimmer (not cone) that I picked up with a nice 112 gallon display. I believe its current pump is a sicce. It doesn't produce much in the way of bubbles at all so I think the pump needs to be replaced.

Is there a better pump that I can use as a replacement?

Best regards,
Bob

i'm going to totally butcher the nomenclature here - but, before you go that direction play with the air inlet knob a bit or it might have been the air inlet tube round thingy - i should have watched more closely. my swc 120 was doing that and my buddy showed me the trick, he experienced that with his swc 160.

The current pumps are not sicce. I was able to mount a psk 2500 on the outside and used a red demon pin wheel and it made the skimmer a monster. I used a bulkhead on the intake hole and used some pvc to connect the pump. Now I know sicce just came out with new pumps. or you could look and see if you could hook up a bubble blaster pump

Thanks for all the input here. Mine is probably on older pump but I can't tell for sure since it was cleaned up well. I don't have an air inlet knob butdo have a venturi nozzle and hose which extends up above the water. My skimmer has a sliding pipe whch allows me to control water level in my skimmer. It's an earlier model 160.

All of the water in my sump (not yet exchanging water with my display that I've only just set up without anything but water) is rodi so is it possible that the water adhesion is a factor and the bubbles just aren't blasting the way that they might if there was something in the water to remove?

Thanks, Bob
