SWC 1A Cone skimmer review

very easy to break apart to clean...i think my 2 year old could take it apart and put it back together.....just 4 hand screws.....i run it at 7.5 " with my custom mesh sandwich impeller ...pics coming soon...9x7 is the footprint

Thanks for taking the time to share this info. Good to know. means I have a fighting chance of not messing it up.....lol.

225 gallon tank.. just ordered the 230. Think I should switch to the 250 1a or am I doing okay with the 230? Medium stocked reef tank with a 65 gallon sump and an ATS.

4tangs, 225 is a pretty large setup.

If I were you I would switch to the 250 1A as it has more capacity to handle a large tank like your 225.

Sorry for the late reply as I have been offline.

While an ATS is an excellent type of filtration as long as its maintained a large protein skimmer is also required for large tanks IME. I don't currently have an ATS but when I did its efficiency went up once I added my SWC 1A skimmer (was an upgrade from a Tunze 9020). In particular the yellowing that can happen from running an ATS went down dramatically.
