SWC cone Skimmer help

I got a new skimemr for my 60 gal cube tank, and i have a few questions.

First Im very limited on space in my sump due to it being a cube. My question is this. the return line from the skimmer is dumping into the fuge area cause that the only way it will fit. That pipe however will be underwater. Is that going to make a difference? Not all of the return pipe will be, but the end of it.

Should I cut it short, so it dumps into the fuge? or can i leave it alone and let the end be under water?

So here's where the water line would be..

You can see that the return end will be under water. I would love to leave it like that, but not sure if its bad for the skimmer.

you could take that pipe that goes underwater off or cut is shorter, it is not really necessary .

I would probably cut it if it was me. I think they just give you a little extra when you get a skimmer to suit everyones needs.

I would like to leave it long if it doesnt hurt anything. i say that because with this setup being in my living room, I was trying to keep it a little more quiet. Just wasnt sure it would affect the skimmer.

Just make sure the section where the skimmer sits is being fed with more water than the skimmer pump will be putting in the next section. You don't want the skimmer to pull water out faster than the return from the tank keeps it filled.

You do NOT want it under water, for several reasons. First, putting it under water could make a siphon, which will draw the water from the skimmer too fast. Second, that cone can barely handle the askoll as is. You don't want any back pressure raising the water in the neck. Trust me, I own one and have to run it wide open. Third, if you place it under water the varying back pressure will make it a pain to adjust. That skimmer displaces a TON of water in the body, and even minor fluctuations in back pressure will cause erratic performance. Cut the pipe down to reduce noise and splashing, but don't submerge it.

That is the Mini-S with a single Sicce. A submerged outflow causes back pressure and unreliable operation. Have it at an angle and partially submerged if you can.

you can keep the pipe under water as stated before. The only time you will run into problem if the water levels change alot. If they stay the same you be fine.
Try it first before you cut or mod anything.

i would take the elbow off the "T" all together and turn the outlet of the "T" back into the sump chamber that houses the skimmer., then adjust the height of the "T" lower so that it sits right above the water level as to avoid any splashing noise or salt creep.

You do not want the exhaust pipe to exit under the water. Partially submerged is fine, but not totally submerged.
