SWC Mini Cone vs Octo

Hi Jeremy,
50G softy reef with a very heavy fish load. Looking for best quality and the most quiet. Both skimmers are about the same price, any preference?

i have the mini it has a smaller foot print, i am loving the skimmer so fair,,,

I think it would work for you, however it's still overkill in my opinion. I personally wouldn't use anything bigger than an IN-80 / IN-100, or Extreme 160 on that size system. That will help to really keep pricing down too!
