It arrived alive.
Pic was taken t RM.
it died before shipping.
Those Blue TD are sensetive, and unlike what some other people said in the other thread, they can die very quickly and nothing else can look wrong, other clams and SPS can be in top condition while the blue TD just dies in few hours.
It happened to me more than once.

WOW! Ashame that it is dead but I don't think Chris at Reefermadnes would lie about something like that.

I dont know what it is, but Blue Tear drops do die more than other maxima.
I dont think it got to do with the collection method, cause they have the rock attached and it's nothing to do with their leg, as it was with the Vietnam croceas years back.

Large teardrops, regardless of color, do not tolerate moving very well and have a very HIGH mortality rate, sometimes as high as 4/5 or more.
That's why they don't come up for sale often -- and when they do it is not unusual for them to die.
I'm surprised RM would try to sell one as I'm sure they are aware of their poor success rate.
Stick with smaller clams that tolerate moving/shipping stress much better.

A couple of years ago teardrops from Vietnam were perishing do to poor collection methods. Currently Solomons is the point of origin for these guys and these collectors take great care. It really sounds like an urban myth that one well collected maxima is not as hardy as others because of the colors patterns in it`s mantle.
