swim bladder problems

Have had a clownfish (perc) in my main disply tank for over a year. About 2 weeks ago he started this strange behavior. He would lie upsidown propped underneath a large stalk of singulara. About a week ago he stopped eating and continued to exhibit the same behavior. I tried to catch him but he would see the net and zoom off into the rocks. 3 days ago I woke up and found him floating on the top, upside down and alive.

He is now in a 5 gal quarantine tank. He is active but wont eat. When he stops moving he floats to the surface upside down. I have been treating him with Nitrofuracin green (Nitrofurazone, Furazolidone, Methylene Blue) and metronidazole for the past three days. I havnt noticed any improvement and he still wont eat.

I dont think he'll make it much longer without eating.

Please help

Tank Info: 200gal mixed reef. About 30 fish. Param for main tank: pH7.95-8.12, alk 8, PO4 0.07, Salinity 1.023, NO3 - 5, Ca 440. Tank running for 20 months. Last fish added was Feb 5, 2013 (diamond goby)

Swim bladder disorder is usually untreatable. However, I once had luck treating a Clarkii clown that was displaying symptoms of swim bladder. It wasn't a permanent fix, but he seemed more comfortable and lived for almost another year. I would feed him a peeled boiled pea every so often. F/w aquarists have been doing this for years to treat swim bladder in goldfish. Try it; what do you have to lose?
