Swings in Cal

If I use a calcium reactor, will it increase my alk significantly compared to calcium? (This is after when things settle down)

if you set it up correctly you will have a nice balance of alk and cal. my tank is running a reactor and my alk hold steady at 7-8 while my calcium is at 420 which is the sweet spot IMO

also runninig a CR, my alk is always 7.2 with cal of 420. mag i dose when requeired prob every 3 - 4 weeks to maintain at 1260

would having mag at that level be a bad thing? (2025ppm)

My sps looks stressed out at the moment. So i don't want to change or add anything for at least a few weeks or until the level drops back down to normal.

Will do!

So how do you guys maintain the levels at a constant level?

with two part, log your test results and dosage amounts every day and adjust accordingly until you have it nailed. Should only take a couple fo weeks tops if you dont overshoot your mark and just kind of sneak up on it. then you will just need to test every week or two and up it as your tank grows and consumes more

this has nothing to do with a reactor. This is what balanced water and consumption does whether two part or a reactor.

Thats what I did until I went over to the aquadoser. Seems a bit hard to adjust correctly.
