switch to (gulp) freshwater?

They're cream colored and polyps are a little contracted. One is from Matt's tank, which that should be doing peachy. The other is from Bill's tank-of-death, so that guy is a crapshoot to start with.

If I held up a bank (successfully), like I would be hanging out in Central PA.... and Joe, I don't know if my VW can take on a big snapper.

i have had many freshwater setups. Mainly with gamefish (small mouth bass, large mouth, rockbass, pickeral). They were great tanks. Fed them baby crayfish and minows and worms. If i had a chiller i would try trout.

I used a reef ready tank with a wet/dry. Worked great and you didnt need to heat the tank at all.

When i built my inwall, i was debating doing it freshwater but opted for salt.

Not to get off the subject here, but try feeding your tank alittle more to give your acros more nutirents. Just remember you need some nutrients for your corals to grow and color up, 0 is a bad thing when it comes to N&P, you need just alittle so you dont starve them. Ok back to your thread.

Jandree,
I am one of those crazy guys that have both. Here are a couple pics of my planted tank, a little difference in time between them. I have CO2 injected. My SW tank is not a high tech, SPS tank. I lean more towards the tanks of Elysia and Aushepherd in keeping the easier stuff. I am definitely not ready for anything as difficult as what other guys out here have.
I don't think its some competition out there. Do what you like with your tanks. I never thought I would get into SW tanks, but a friend got me into it.
I keep softies and LPS, and of course the strange possible SPS. I am a low tech reef guy, just above a FOWLR tank. But hey, I enjoy what I have and that is the key. Don't stress it out. It is a hobby and to be enjoyed.
If you need to downgrade, then do so. Everything in life is temporary. If you need to change for awhile or downgrade than do so.
I love my planted tank. I love my reef tank. Do I love the tanks of Steve or Matt or lpkenneys. Sure I do. They have great tanks and inspire me to do better. Am I jealous? No, well maybe a little, I enjoy what I can do, and I love the fact that there is a local "support" group that is willing to help even the little guys like me. Will I ever go SPS? Perhaps. But for now I enjoy the little reef I got. And my planted tank as well.

thanks Jeff, that's exactly the look and feel of FW tank I was picturing. looks great! with the exceptions of dying acros which are exposing my intermediate skill level, my tank is otherwise doing great right now with various montipora, lps and softies. I think a planted FW tank will always linger in the back of my head. put it this way, if I ever experiences the dreaded full tank loss of my reef, I'll probably give planted a shot.

I keep saying that, but it never happens.
