Switching to SPS - help

I'm now have an LPS coral reef.
I want to sell them and start an full SPS tank.
My questions are:

1. To add my RO unit an DI and getting 0 TDS?
2. I've Marine Reef MR1 new reactor and everyone telling my to put bio-pellets media. my LFS says that the reactor is nod good for bio-pellets, true?
3. I've a friend that want to give the phosban 150 reactor for free with this, should I use the phosban reactor for the bio-pellets? if so, what to pun in the MR1 reactor and can I connect them together?
4. any more advice for a newbie will be great!

Thank you :reading:

1. Yes you need a rodi unit that puts out 0 tds. You can add a di of you already have a ro
2. I don't know most reactors need some modification. removing sponges and adding a plastic screening is usually all. some flow better for pellets than others.
3. I used that screen in my 150 without sponges and a maxijet 1200 and it worked well. Put carbon in it.
4.I don't suggest going with biopellets right away. Try the pellets later after you're more familiar with sps. I say this because I tried pellets and went back to gfo. There's a lot to them. Read some of the threads in the chemistry forum about them. I was starving my corals. it's easier to use gfo to control phosphate. If the flow you have is good for lps you'll need a lot more for sps to be happy. And make sure your light is bright enough. I'm not sure what you already know. good luck

Yes start off with keeping sps first then try the pellets later . We also need to now what tpy of flow you have in the tank . Sps require alot of flow and what light do you have right now thay need MH or T5 and led to keep them alive Pc will not work at all . what type of skimmer are you using. And test kits what test kit are you using and you need a hanna to test for p04 . P04 and N03 are very important in a sps tank. Get back to us about theys thing then we can really tell you what you need to keep sps.

I have T5 on the tank. just now order leds (need to order more).
my tank is 65G and have 2 wave makers 3000L\H.
I will bring the phosban reactor.
can I use the MR1 as it is for GFO (it's not actully carbon?!)?
also, does bio-pellets + carbon \ GFO I will remove all the coral food from the system?

Thank you guys.

U can run the MR1 with carbon or GFO . Ur choice
Depending on circumstances you would not run all three at once. When you start the pellets you remove the GFO . Again this depends on the water quality .
U are not really removing coral food per say .
Carbon removes tanins and dissoved organics .
GFO removes phosphates
Bio Pellets remove Phosphates and Nitrates . The bio-plankton can serve as a means of food for coral and fish .
Again please read threads on biopellets ...
4 now stick with the GFO and carbon until you can read up more on the pellets..

Thank you very much!
I will ope my new MR1 at last!
Going to put there GFo for start.

My main problem is after a time when I move to bio-pellets the MR1 will no useful to me because I can't using him for anything when running bio-pellets - as far as my understanding goes.

tommorow will be the day for reading all the threats on bio-pellets again and again and...

As I said, thank you!

what are your water parameters you dont want to put sps in a tank with high nitrates or phosphates . Give us your par of alk, mag, nitrates, phos, and cal
