Looking great Swoop :D!
It will be truly awesome if a couple of those goby babies make it :D!
Make sure you keep us updated on their progress :)...

Hey Swoop it's great to see another DD tank in N FL. I set mine up about a month ago, these are awesome tanks. Your last FTS looks great.

I looked back at a few earlier pics I have of my two oldest SPS corals from when I first put them in the tank and I noticed that their color has faded out some from when I first put them in the tank. Their polyps still come out and they are still growing but their color has faded some.

All my parameters are really really good so I'm thinking perhaps they are getting too much light.

Anyway as an experiment starting today I have knocked my full spectrum lighting time down by 2 hours. I read an old thread indicating people had success with their SPS by doing that. Went from 10 hours to 8 hours total light time with 6 hours of full light versus the 8 hours I was doing. We will see how that goes.

Yep, I'm in Valdosta almost every Friday night to eat, get gas and go to Sams, lol.

Valdosta State Grad too.

Nice! Stop by my restaurant next time. I love meeting other reefers in the area. I am right by Sam's. Austin's exit 16. Ask for Keith (and forgive me when you walk in and see the nice fuge not hooked up to the 180 in the restaurant).
Also I have conference rooms so if the N. FL guys ever need a place for a meet or frag swap (especially Saturday during the day) I will happily rent the room to you for the low price of $0.
Great build and happy reefing

Tank is looking great. I like how the rockwork has depth to it, Makes it look much more natural.

I wanna see where you end up putting those frags. ha

Have you ever head a problem with the watchman gobies jumping out of the tank...I've always wanted one but heard they are prone to do that. Also, how are they with shrimp?

Eeek, didn't know it had been this long since I posted an update. I'll get some current pics up soon. But they won't be anything stunning, corals sure to grow slow. ;)

No I haven't had any issues with the watchmens jumping out, I don't think I have ever seen one of them go an higher than about 3 inches off the bottom. I have no idea how they are with shrimp since I don't have any atm.

I'm starting to think my lighting might be overkill. I've got the total photoperiod down to around 8 hours per day and still I can't seem to get corraline algae to grow on parts of the rockwork that are exposed directly to the lighting. It's growing great in shaded areas and on the bottom of rock, on my overflows and on my Vortechs.

My corals are doing great though a few of my SPS seem to have turned somewhat brown, however they are still growing with good polyp extension at night, it's just that the color isn't a vibrant as they were when I first put them in. However some of them are nice and bright and have great color. I dunno.

Bought a frag pack from DBarsotti, couldn't be happier. Packed and shipped better than most mailorder fishstore stuff, everything is alive and slowly growing.

My 3 clams are doing very good.

I found two baby serpent starfish in one of my overflows on the glass last night. Thought that was pretty damn cool, especially considering I've never had any serpent starfish in my tank. :)

No new fish to speak of. My wife keeps begging me to add more fish, but I'm scared that it will throw off my tank in some way, either through disease, harrasement, or something.

I'll get some current pictures up this weekend.

glad to hear the frags are doing good! cant wait to see some updated pics of the tank.. dang i wish i had a 300!

Hi, Love the build.

Random request. Can you post a pic of yourself standing next to it? I think this is what I want to buy, I'm 6' tall and want to make sure the tank and stand is not too short for me. :)
