Synergy Ghost Overflow Noisy

I have tried everything I can think of to make overflow silent but I guess I'm not doing something right. Have adjusted pipes, turned pump up and down, adjusted gate valve, read thread after thread! Don't know what else to try. I can still hear water gurgling. Can you post videos on here?
 
Water "gurgling" is when the water flowrate is too much for a gravity drain and the water peels off the side walls of the pipe and pulls air down with it..
The solution..sadly is to reduce flow.. some have played with airlines stuck down it to essentially let the air escape,etc.. lots of little tricks... "overflow noise" should give you enough reading/tips,etc.. for the rest of your lifetime..

How many "drain" pipes do you have in there?
Are you running herbie/durso,etc...?
Pics may help.. and a video wouldn't be bad either..

Or switch it to a 3 drain (full siphon, open channel and emergency) like the bean animal drain system..
 
Synergy ghost would be set up as BA I think. But yea sounds like flow is too much. I have a HOB overflow but it makes some awful noises if I open the return line too much.
 
It is BA. I have a DC pump and it's on 2. I've tried turning to 1 and still have noise.

Are the outlets (where it exits into the sump) of both the open channel and full no more than 1/2" below the water level?
Do you have a valve on the full siphon channel? (you should)

That may be a bit much for the low flow you may be running and all the air can't clear out properly..

but..
Is the noise from the open channel? (should be easy to see where the bubbles are coming out in the sump)..
If so open the valve more on the full channel and potentially increase flow on the pump.

If not where are the bubbles?
 
I think the noise is coming from open channel. I've adjusted gate valve so no bubbles coming out of OC but still hear gurgle. If I open gate valve a little more then the water in overflow box drops below hole in full siphon tube! Ugh.....

What DC pump are you running?

Try changing the outlets so their no more then 1/2" below the waterline. you can also drill a small (3/16" dia) hole just below the waterline this will help to clear the air out of the full siphon. with a BA setup you want a slight trickle down the secondary line. it also sounds like you can increase you flow from the pump when I set up my current tank I found it easier to adjust when I have more flow thru the system.

Now start increasing pump speed... (and open valve a little more as needed)..
Almost there...

That tells me your full siphon is not purging. Your return flow is too low. When you start the flow, the oc will go full siphon a few times before the full siphon settles down and purges all the air.

Agreed with above posts, crank that pump all the way up, open the full siphon almost all the way and then close siphon down so it doesn't empty your overflow to quick. You should be able to tune the full siphon so it is not breaking on its own by pulling too much water in at the top.

I think I got it right. I have the jebao 6000 DC pump and i couldn't get overflow quiet until I eventually had it turned to 1. I only have a 40 gallon breeder with 20L sump. Will that be enough flow thru sump?
 
I have a Jebao 9000 running on my 40b n I have it at 8. Running a BA drain like u.

Wow! I'm sure I'm not doing something right. Sure I'll be fiddling more with it tomorrow. When I turn pump up high besides being noisy it blows sand all over the place. I don't have a locline on my return pipe so it points right at sand.

With a 6000 I'd guess around 30-40% power should be good depending on head height..
I'd dial it in for that speed..
That should be plenty of flow for the return pump
