not in Syracuse, but I do culture in Rochester. Phyto, rotifers, and hatch brine. It's really easy and cheap to just hatch brine from cysts, so I don't even try to have a tank dedicated to just them.
oh please dont take my comment offensively as i was just stating what i did . basically i just play around with it and you may be able to help me as i can never get the brine to adult size . they start to die off fast after 8 days or so ,do you know what would cause this ? i think they are not getting the right food as their sacks are falling off and then they are probably starving . what do you think
No offense taken. It's pretty much required to raise rots for clownfish fry.
I've never really tried to get brine to adult (but have accidentally succeeded a few times). SG of 1.015, feed a bit of phyto every day, and let them go. I've gotten them in my rotifer cultures a few time and they seem to thrive (and even carry eggs). No water changes and somewhat infrequent feedings.
