T-5 retro-fit problem

Can someone explain why I have to tap/flick a T5 end cap to get the lamps to fire?

That's what I thought, but is it curious that they never flicker once on?

Maybe they are spaced too far apart. It is strange, it might just need that initial boost to power up.

Well I will be rewiring them as I upgrade to a 120, so maybe I can figure it out then. THANKS!

Make sure you don't have the end caps for each bulb spaced too wide. A fraction of an inch off will make it hard for the pins to complete the circuit.

The older end caps allowed for more play as you had to spin them to lock in the connection. The newer ones just snap in, making the spacing more critical.

I think it was a bad connection as stated. It's been fine on the 120. Thanks All.
