Hi all,

I have two old Tek lights (36 inch x 6 bulbs over a 72 inch long tank) without any features (dimming, control, active cooling etc). I'm not happy with lack of control. It's nearly impossible to acclimate corals.

I feel like I read a lot of comments recommending ATI or more expensive options like Giesemann. Does anyone use other fixtures with any success or recommendations? I think I want to stick with T5 lighting for now.

Cut down your lighting schedule when acclimating. Place the corals down low in the tank as well.

As far as fixtures go, ATI is top notch. The non dimmable versions seem to be much more reliable. You would be fine with a 6x80w or 8x80w ATI Sunpower. It will be more powerful than your current setup so be careful if you switch.

You should check about Pacific Sun Lighting, they have lot of differents fixtures, only T5, Hybrid T5/LED and full LED with a lot of features!

I don't have if this brand is available in the US but here in Europe, they become more and more popular about their Ligthing systems ;-)

Pac Sun Diuna is old school ATI Powermodule pricing as they perform the same. Giesemann Matrixx II is overpriced for what you get. Matrixx II is ATI PM/Pac Sun Diuna pricing with less performance than ATI Sunpower. So it boils down to this:

Cream of the crop
Import ATI T5 Powermodule from EU
Pac Sun Diuna

Budget
ATI Sunpower

Overpriced nonsense that is pretty
Giesemann Matrixx II

For me, Pacific Sun is better than ATI, more innovative and more beautiful and the price is almost the same, but you got some nice feature on the Pacific Sun Ligh system !

I have a Pacific sun Diuna and i love it!! Price,looks,performance and controllability or all on point. If you decide to go with the pac sun I recommend that you get it in black
