T5 direct replacement LED lamps

I’m not affiliated with euroquatics in any way but it seems they are going out of business, again, and probably for good this time.

That said, it seems their E5X LED replacement lamps are probably the best and in a 5’ version the only option available for direct T5 replacement.

I’m running 2 of the “blue Pop” 60’ versions in my 6” Giesemann Spectra fixture. I like them so much that I just ordered 2 spares in case mine fail.

Be forewarned, there are some compatibility issues, at least with the older E5 versions (which also had sagging issues) where they didn’t work with all ballasts and it’s hit and miss with ATI and Giesemann where they might work with one fixture and not the next however I put the newer E5X in my Giesemann and they fired right up and been running for about 6 months.

60” versions are going for $30 each with reasonable shipping, they also have some radion XR30 knockoffs that look like they will blow the doors off the Chinese black boxes for a nice price.

Dammmm shipping is 30$

Yes and no.

I mean, we have all been conditioned by amazon etc to think shipping is free but my supplier of enterprise access points charges me about $30 S&H for a few access points in a much smaller box. I highly doubt I could ship a 5' box of any weight for $30

Anyways, I think the shipping is reasonable. free shipping is always worked into the price of the product.

I was actually thinking about buying them out and selling on eBay because they are selling for $60 + shipping on eBay for the older E5 models

but I have enough crap going on

Sell them to Anthony...$44.99. That's cheaper than what he would have to pay with shipping. :smokin:

I'd be interested in 2-4 of the E5X 60" Blue Pop if there's enough for a group order. Do we know if they are still shipping out? I thought I read that they stopped shipping even if they were paid.

Also has anyone had experience running them on ATI Sunpowers?

I ordered my spare set on Thursday. I'll post when they arrive.

Got my bulbs! I ordered four 24w blue pop E5X on Thursday and I just received them today. Installed them in my Giesemann Spectra and they are awesome! It's too bad that they are going out of business. Maybe I should order more for when these go out.

Great to hear!!

Yea, the only thing about the spectra, for us metal heads, is you can't get the pop that LEDs do and these fix that.

The set I just bough were for in case the ones I have fail

For 2' and 4' lamps there are other manufactures of LED replacements but us 5' guys can only use these. How do you like the light they make?

Thanks for the heads up, I have a 24" Infinity MH w/ T-5's so I take it that these bulbs work with the Giesemann T-5 ballast? Shipping is only 13 bucks or so for the 24" bulbs.

I love the led pop! I missed it since I switched back to MH, I thought about doing some kind of retrofit led, but didn't want a Jimmy rigged looking fixture. Ive been away from the forums, so I didn't even know a direct fit T5 led replacement existed. I love the the glow the leds create and the clean oem look the E5X's provide. Thanks again for the heads up, id still be rocking the dull looking t5s with my MH.

Got the bulbs today and unfortunately all three of the 60" bulbs were bent. The shipper used two cardboard cylinders that were taped together. It looks like the bent occurred at the intersection of the two cylinders. Emailed the shipper/distributor and will update upon their reply.

That's a real bummer. Mine were shipped in a similar fashion but made it intact.

Hopefully they reply and make it right.

Failing that, if you are local to me, swing by and I might be able to straighten them out. If nothing broke inside, they will probably still work.

Seller replied and said they are sending me another set and I'll need to send them back the bent ones.

Thanks so much for the offer to help straighten them out. I'm not super local, in Redondo Beach. :)

I've chatted with the local seller via email and he seems to be a standup guy.

It seems the parent company in EU has some organizational issues :(
