Ok, it's Friday night and I am stuck at home. I guess with a 2 year old and a newborn, I'll be stuck here for a while :D

Anyways, thought I'd share some pix with y'all who are also stuck at home, for whatever reasons.

Finally finished putting in a couple of retrofit T5 HO's with SLS reflectors on my tank last night, flanking my ROIII w/ a 250W Phoenix 14K. I had several different bulbs so I was playing with some bulb combinations to see which one I would like the best. LMK which one you think looks better. The tank with the added T5's is definitely much brighter than just the MH. It's hard to tell from the pix but very noticeable in person. The front near the bottom used to be pretty dim, now it's bright and I can just keep some stuff down there too.

So what do you guys think? Which one do you like the best.

That last pic looks almost like a Radium 20K to me.

Can't wait until I can get my hands on the URI super actinics. They should really make everything glow.

Phoenix 14K only

i like how the rbta pops with that

very close second

I agree on the RBTA with the Phoenix only, but it's really dim at the bottom half of the tank. Kinda hard to see in the pix but really noticeable in person. You can see how that green body w/orange polyp digi in the bottom middle shows up much more with the T5's running. The added T5's will allow me to keep the Montis on the sandbed

T-5's are the work of the Devil...They just replaced all the T-12 and T-8 HO fixtures in my work area with the same amount of T-5's.. They look great, supposed to use less power but the heat is killing me. I thought these things ran cool.

I hate em:eek2:

LOL Mark, they do run really cool compared to other fluorescent bulbs I have had in the past. I can touch these things and they are barely warm.

Maybe THEY told you those were T5's, but who really knows. Maybe there is a conspiracy......

I think the Phoenix bulb by itself looks fine. IMHO

I don't disagree. I love the look of the Phoenix bulb, but I needed some more light penetration closer to the bottom so I can keep stuff there too. That's the reason I have the blue+ in the back for more color and the aquablue in the front for more light intensity.
