I have decided to make my own LED/ T5 combo fixture.
However, I am unable to decide which design to go with?
Please tell me what design you think is best and why it is best please. :]
As always, THANKS GUYS!

Do design 4 but instead of the ATI aquablue, use a GE 6500k bulb. It will add some spectrum and color that the Aquablue bulbs just wash out.

The purple bulbs are key IMO. I think that LED's still lack something in their spectrum and that is why some colors have a tough time under LED's.

I will not argue with the LED fan boys over it. I have used LED's over two different tanks and both fall short. The first set of LED's were cheap and just an experiment. I used them for over 8 months on a tank. They grew zoos and mushrooms but color was never there. My new setup is the new RapidLED PAR38 bulb and while it is doing alright, the color of the bulb is ugly IMO. There is ZERO blue because they used too many whites. I will be switching it out here in the next month for some ecoxotic LED's.

So I like design 4 the best. Just make sure you use proper T5 ballasts and cool them properly. Not sure if you have seen or dealt with ATI T5 fixtures but try to copy what they do.
