T5 Lighting Module EVG-AP-2F

Hi,

In the process of setting up my T5 Lighting, I have 12 x 2' x 24w being set up in 6 banks of two lamps, which will be run in conjunction with my 3 x 400w Mh's. At present I have 2 x EVG-AP-2F cards, and 6 x 2 x 24w dimmable ballasts.
I would like to have 2 lamps either side of each Mh (3 sets of two to the front of the display and the same at the rear of the display), and have each of the 3 sets of 4 lamps separately controllable.
Would I require another EVG-AP-2F card ?? how many cards can you run off the Profilux Controller ??

Thanks.
Tony.

Each card can run two lamps.

The amount of cards is controlled by the amount of 1-10V interfaces you have available

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought each card ran 2 x ballasts. Each of my ballasts runs 2 x lamps, so that would be 4 lamps from the one card ??
Thanks.
Tony.

Hi,

I have ordered another 1 x EVG-AP-2F card today.
This should allow me to control each of my 6 Ballasts independently with each of the ballasts running two lamps.
At least I think I am correct in saying that ??

Cheers
Tony.

I am using 1mm 3 core cable to connect from the Profilux lighting card to the ballasts, what cable should be used for the control lines from the card back to the ballasts.

Thanks.
Tony.

Just thought I would show the progress.

Thanks.

I used a 5 core cable to the light which eliminates 2 cables to the light fitting. Mine is up and running with no problems.

Thanks Oly,

Another friendly Brisbanite :D

Thats the answer I was looking for, so the same 1mm core wire can also be used for the control lines.
So simple, why did I not think to use 5 core ?? :)
Did you hard wire the other end of the cable directly to your light unit?? I was going to have plugs on mine so that they can be unplugged and moved if required, I think that would make it a little harder unless there is some sort of 5 pin plug also.

This is the plug I was going to use for the control lines to the ballast any idea of how many amps for the control lines??

HI Tony

It is a good idea but the 5 pin plug is not available. I tried everywhere. Are you going to build your own T5 lighting? I am using 5ft 80W T5s. I had a hard time trying to work out the best way to do this - had to buy reflectors etc.

Kind regards

G'Day Oly,

Yes I am also in the process of making up my own T5 lighting, see attached photo.
I will have 6 sets of 2 x T5's but mine are only the 2 footers as supplemental lighting to my 3 x 400w Mh's.

I am just not sure how much current is required on the control line cable from the cards to the ballasts, just need to be 100% sure to make sure the plugs and fittings for the control lines will be ok, anyone got an answer????

These are the tubes I will be using to start with.

Hey Mates,

These pictures of those nice, clean boxes--are they housing both the profilux dimming cards AND the ballasts or just the cards?

Thanks,

James

Hi,

The photo showing the lights I am making up, will house the ballasts and light wiring inside the aluminium box section. The clean boxes are the control cards and wiring only. The ballasts are very slim and too long to go in those boxes. The photos posted showing the fittings are what I will use to connect the control lines and power from the lighting cards to my lights. "Plug and Play" hopefully.
Cheers
Tony.

Thanks guys.

I have a Sfiligoi Stealth 2 x250w MH plus 8x54w T5s. The The ballasts for the T5s are in an external fan-cooled ballast box so I would like to get the dimmable ballasts and profilux cards and build a bigger fan-cooled box to hold both the ballasts and the cards. The main thing holding me up is money! Hopefully by Christmas time I can do this.

James

Gives us at least one month notice as we only bring ballasts in on an order by order basis.

next order going in - 14 days, so you would get them by the beginning of october, next shipment after that would be october for end of october and then same for November, last date for Christmas will be end of November

Start planning :)
