T5 lighting vs. compact flourescent?

I don't know much about T5 lighting, but how much more intense would 156 watts of T5 be compared to 192 watts of compact flourescent? Which would I be able to more coral under?

Well it's my friends tank. A 50 deep i think. I plan on halides for my tank, but they want something cheaper.

T-5's IMO. Cheaper to run, they don't heat up your aquarium like MH's, and a lot easier on the electric bill!

I am not for certain as far as experience goes as I only have a polyp rock and starburst evergreen polyps in my aquarium under the 48" 216 watt T-5 lighting, but from what I have read on here, and in this article in the first paragraph of Fluorescent lighting, that they produce more then enough lighting. I have a TEK T5 light fixture with 4 54 W bulbs over a 55 and I have a crocea near the bottom that is doing great and a millepora that is really healthy as well.
