all i can say is that the nfc north is messed up when the bears win the division:lol:

LMFAO true dat.

cyclops23 go with Aqualux, you will not regret it.

i have to get along with a vikings fan at work. my desk and hers is kinda connected, so I have to learn to keep it civil. :)

however, at the time the 2 packers/vikings games (hopefully more), all civility is off:lol:

Packers Rule...ok, maybe only once every 10 years... But you know what would make football better?>> if it were played on ice instead of grass, with sticks, and instead of a leather ball, a small round chunk of rubber to hit with the sticks. Lol. Devils 4ever.

i used a 4x54watt setup with a Workhorse7 as the ballast...worked great. Its not the strongest performer of the normal T5 ballasts, as the triads by advance seem to be...but the reflectors are what I would make a bigger deal about.

The lower PAR of the workhorse (only slightly), makes me wonder if it might result in longer bulb life...know what I mean?

Does anyone have any info on the new Philips T5HO...I understand that they have a 65k lamp along with various other colors including red and blue and green. Anyone know how good they are?

yeah, maybe that is it?

i feel the 20% better PAR numbers from good reflectors makes the 1-2% par deficit (or whatever it is that the w ballasts are behind the advance ballast) easily overcome.

I am still amazed that i have no rings on the ends of my original t5ho bulbs.

I 've got 2 39 watt Aqualux reflectors and 6 54w Icecap. Icecap has switched to a plastic clip that is so must easier to get on and off the bulb now. I worry about breaking the bulb with the Aqualux everytime I clean it. I'm also getting some rust on the bulbs from the Aqualux clips.

The endcaps at Aqulux snap into the standoff's. Yes get them it is very easy and you have to run the wire thru them any way.

I made the canopy/hood, those are my supports, I have 1 on ea. side and 1 in the front. (the 1 in front is a bit off) Kind of ghetto I know but they work well.

huh?

you must mean icecap switched to plastic clips. Aqualux has always (AFAIK)had plastic clips. I know icecap tried a stop gap fix that was to have their clips that were rusting(a low grade of SS apparently) powdercoated to prevent this rusting, but powdercoat isnt good on thin stuff that can bend. My aqualux clips are plastic, and after 15 months of service, are still in perfect shape. if one ever does break, my local electronics supplier that i deal with at work has these plastic clips...

I have heard a few people have broken bulbs when putting the IC reflectors on their bulbs...if IC has swapped to the plastic ones, its a wise move on their part...

imitation is the most sincere form of flattery:cool:
