I just bought a 90g semi cube 36x24x24 dims ...

the question is if my t5 tek light 6 bulb would be enough for SPS dominated tank thanks guys:beer:

great tank dims...I switched back to T5s from MH...Tek fixture...SPS love it...I have the 8 bulb, but I also have a 120.

+1 that an 8 bulb fixture would be better for front to back coverage, but six bulbs will work. You may want to offset the light ttears the back of the tank so the front has lower light to accommodate LPS or softies.

I have a 6 bulb Tek fixture and my sps are growing like weeds now with great color. I have them at different levels too just not at the bottom.

You have 6 bulbs over an 18" area which is a perfect setup. 6 bulbs have a tough time covering 24" effectively. Some people will say its okay but numbers say otherwise. It can be done but its not ideal for an sps dominated tank. Especially using a tek fixture.

There is a guy on another site who wants to trade a Tek Elite 8 bulb for a 6 bulb. I have a Tek Elite 6 bulb on a 120 tank 4 x2 x2 but almost exclusively softies. Good trade

Thanks, that's what I did for my 150g.
T5's are awesome for growth but overall color can look kinda flat, so I went w/ a 6 bulb ATI and truelumen pro's to add shimmer and boost PAR
I had the panorama pro's at first, those are actually stronger and have clip on reflectors that help for penetration, but the truelumens fit my canopy better.
Even just a little shimmer makes a huge difference to me.

i was trying to keep my 6 bulb just because another fixture can be pricey just for two more bulbs.. thanks dave i think i will go with that idea thanks again very much
