T5 vrs MH

I've always had metal halides, and I love them. But, I'm setting up a 29g for a maroon and BTA. Would T5's be sufficient for a BTA? I was thinking that a 14K 150 watt MH would be a little intense.

Either one will work, I'm guessing you would have to get a 4 bulb fixture if you went T5

I prefer MH bc I like the shimmer.

either one will work.i would go with a 4 to 6 bulb T5 light because they are cheaper and will work just as good.

I have 4x 39W T5 on my 58 gallon and have absolutely no problem with my RBTA's. Due to water parameter problems, one split into 5, and my remaining 3 are growing like mad! They're high in the tank, and haven't moved since the splits so they must like it there. (I never feed them either, I let my clarkii's take care of that)

I went with the 4x 24watt T5's. MH just seemed too intense for a 29g tank.

I'm looking forward to moving my maroon clown out of my DT with a H. magnifica and getting some percula clowns. The next challenge is to catch the little guy.
