I have a custom made wood canopy, never used & stained, made for my new 90gl tank but I am not going to use it. Because I find it a bit low in height & the entire top flips up instead of the front piece only. First one to offer $75 owns it.

I also have a 75 with 4 54s on an icecap ballast this tank is used for my sps frags.. with some zoo's and lps in the front with no bulbs directly over them..

I also have a 125 running with 3 80w on an icecap ballast with softies and lps I even threw a couple sps in to see what would happen, they are doing well.

with this last conversion I have done away with all my halides. So far I love the t5's much less heat and nicer color as far as I am concerned..

Gary....are they cheaper to run? I mean aren't watts , watts for power consumption?

yes watts are power consumpution. I went from around 1,100w on my halide system to around 600w on my t5's.

the IC ballasts overdrive the bulbs so a 54w = 80w & 80w = 100w.

also the bulbs put out much less heat so now there is a change in the amount of heat & cooling it takes to keep the tank temp stable...
