Pluto, thanks for that tidbit. I'm probably hosed there for the time being as the current tank has black sand.

I have many tabling corals with a ssb.... There is no natural light reflection in the wild.

you dont think?, but you also don't have massive plankton floating by day in day out. light, full perimeter day in day out. etc.

I've had this table acro for almost 2 years. Bought it as a wild colony. You can see the difference between the original growth form which has thicker branches (at the top of photo) and the lower portion which is the growth of the coral in my tank....

Any chance of ID for this???

every little bit helps
if they get real big i think one has to give them a hair cut.
but w/ no light or very reduced light the base & undersides will
most likely receed.
Scarabs table looks sim. to mine.
