Tail Swishing

Sorry if this has been asked but I searched and didn't find anything.

I have two maroons (male and female). The female occasionally puts her tail in the sand and swishes it back and forth. Great for keeping the sand stirred.

But why do they do this?

To annoy us! :D I don't know acutally but mine does constantly. I assumed it was 'cleaning'

when my female started laying eggs my male started doing it. but never did before that.

Mine moves half my sand bed to the other side of the tank.. it isent pretty.. lol

mine did it, looks like a white christmas blizzard. gets all over my rocks and corals. i was able to relocate my nem a little higher in the tank and she stopped(for now lol).
