Take me to your leader

First off, sorry about the triple post about the tank and stand, not sure how that happened.

Does TC-FRAG have a club website?

Hi Randy,

I don't think there really is a leader. Back a while ago the group had a couple meetings/frag swaps but nothing was ever really consistant. I would love to try and get something going. No website either.

I'm back in the game and ready to start going to meetings again.

I may even be able to swing a pizza night meeting at Aquatic Life in stuart.

If you want me to set up a pizza night at Aquatic Life, I could probably set something up for a sunday around 6pm. say either Feb. 27 or Mar. 6? We'd still be able to do any kind of open swap between attendees with no problems. I may even be able to arrange special after hours discounts on store livestock, but no promises on that one until I talk to the higher ups.
That would give the club time to alert a few more of the members (and potential members) that there's a meeting in the works.
The owner and manager are very cool with having any meetings there and I might even be able to swing a few speakers at later meetings to enlighten us on a few things like chemistry, skimmers, lighting, etc.

I'd also probably be ready to host a meeting at my house later on in like April or (more likely) May. I live in Port Sewell/Stuart on the water with a 100' dock and I could host earlier than 6pm and you guys could go fishing/whatever off the dock. We could even do a pot luck barbie.
Kids are cool as long as they're monitered. Unattended children will be fed to the sharks or my attack shih-tzu ;)

i am still Very new to the salt world but i think it would be cool to have a local club. I attended another group club in Fort Pierce a while ago and everybody just looked at me like ":what is he doing here" I am only 27 so i was the youngest person there by about 20 years and since i was still in the planning stage of starting a salt tank they were nice but still gave me a bunch of funny looks lol. I have been into Aquarium fish for as long as i can remember and i read that local clubs/groups were the best place to learn. So i dont have any frags to swap (yet) but i would love to pick your brains lol. My mother is building a new house in palm city and she is doing a 320g reef tank. We ase planning at least 15 different types of corals and about the same in fish. We are planning to have the designers of the tank train me to care for it. I will be there every step of the build and they are gonna let me do a small intershit with some of there service techs to learn the ropes. The point is i have always loved learning about fish and im just now starting my first Biocube 14g. So if you guys want to set up a local club meeting, i might not be able to contribute just yet but im down.

I will also be down for a meeting and will spread the word to people I know in the hobby also. Any one looking for some nice frags let me know I still have lot avaible. Thanks MIke

I'm definitely in as well! I just moved here from Orlando a few months ago and I was wondering if there was a reef club around here. It would be great to chat with some of the other reefers in the area.

Wow, this thread came to life! It would definitely be nice to meet some more "reefers" from here in the Stuart/FP/TC area. Even if there is no club, we can all get together to talk tank on a regular basis.

Rick, if you can host or set something up at Aquatic Life, that would be great. I can get a list together of people who want to attend, and we can all bring something in (food/drink/etc), and make this a nice little gathering.

If you want to give me a call, I'll PM my number to you. Let me know.

Randy

So there's 7 of us plus Torry and I. Seems like it could be a nice little "get together" to meet everyone and talk tank, trade some frags, etc.

As soon as RicksReef replies we can try to pull something together.

We're good to go. Why don't we figure on doing it sunday, march 6th at 6pm at Aquatic Life.

Time to resurrect this motha...hahaha!

Dood! how's the new (well, I guess not so new anymore) kiddy doing?

Privitor, don't sweat the being new to it part, that what clubs are great for.
good advice, cheap or free frags to get you going, and once we start hopping around to members houses for some meetings, you can check out the different things that work for people, ask questions, etc.

You'll be trading frags in no time.
