Taking a vacation

I am leaving for a 2 week business trip/vacation on August 22nd. At this time I just have one employee who will be recieving packages but is not able to do repairs or tech support. I hope to have a second employee on board before I leave but I am not sure if this will happen in time and even so he will not be properly trained in doing repairs. I will do my best to help from a far and we should be able to handle emergency spare part shipments. If you need something repaired, please send it now! I will return on the 7th of September and be here for a week before heading off to MACNA. While I intend to still check in here, for one week I will be in a remote part of Europe where internet access is unlikely, for the remaining time I will be at the factory in Germany and should have easy access to internet.

I have one question pls roger.

i have some tunzes, one is making a click noise on some settings, when i have it on 24/7 it makes no noise and works great. If i have it on interval 1, it make this click noise. every couple seconds like the power kicks on and turns the prop very little it clicks then runs fine.. what is this clicking? i can hear it from 20 feet away. I have been running only interval 3 to avoid having this noise. Any ideas? i have cleaned the tunzes just like shown in this forum, still makes the click...
these are 6100 tunzes on a 7094 controller.
thank you

jeff

They are probably with the older drive unit with the brake shoes. On start up the brakes make a clicking noise. You can use eithe part 7400.610 to lock the brakes in place (this was added in late 2004) or use part 6100.70 with no brakes.

have a nice vacation, and what do you think of the new flash gordon series (if you watch it, avatar and all)?

Roger, if you're still around, I've got a problem with a 6100.
My wife heard a beeping sound yesterday afternoon, didn't mention it to me until later that evening. I checked my pumps and found 1 of my 6100's not working. I took it apart and soaked it, cleaned it and reassembled today but it won't work. The controler lights don't go on and the motor box and coil get hot fast.
Any ideas, because I can't wait 2 weeks to resolve this problem.
Thanks
Bob

Bob,

I am sorry but it will have to wait, it sounds like the driver fried. I just finished the last shipouts, I leave tomorrow and there is nothing I can do at this point. The pump needs to be sent in.

Roger, I took it off the wavy sea that moves it and put a 6080 from my other tank in it's place.
I will box up the 6100 and the controler and ship them to you. I know you'll get to it as soon as you can, have a nice trip, both vacation and work.
Thanks
Bob

I thought it was kind of lame. The new remastered DVD is pretty cool though!

I've been watching it, but it just isn't the same without some Queen in the background. How could they not use that music with the new series?!

hey roger

i ordered some parts back in september for my pumps that were a making clicking sounds. i ordered 2x 6100.700 , when i got them i put them in and the driver alarm starts to go off. so i took them out and have been running the old props. The fact is one pump clickes the other doesnt. so i run only one pump 24 / 7 now.
what did i do order the wrong part? i cant find a part 6100.70 on the tunze site. i can send u my order number if u need it. What do i need to do the fix this?

thanks

jeff

Jeff,

Did you change the bearings and the drive units? The older bearings were too tight for the new drive units, the new ones should have included the correct bearings. I just ran a search on the tunze site for 6100.70 and it came right up, I know they are reworking the site right now so there may be momentary glitches as they prepare to update it.

roger

i just searched the site again 6100.70 and i brought me to 6100.700 . is it the same part? i did not take it apart . what part is the bearing? small plastic piece that slides off?

The bearings are parts 3000.62 and 3000.61 with 3000.612, these should have come with the 6100.70 and must be changed out.

6100.70 and 6100.700 are the same, the 3rd decimal place is generally only used for sub assemblies so it is often omitted.
