When you sand out deep sracthes should the grit be a lower value or higher value for the deep scratches? In other words what sands out deep scrathes better 400 or 3000 grit?

The higher the number I beleive is the finer sandpaper. Frankly, given the softness of acrylic, I'd use fine sandpaper on the whole job, so as not to contribute more gouges outlying the damage. Just patient, gentle and gradual. Tiring work, but over all apt to be kinder to the tank. You can also work 'wet' with fine sandpaper.

800 will be a little rougher. Don't bear down. Just a light but persistent touch.

Ok its just that it has some scratches that 1000 isn't doing it, ill go soft and gentle then follow up with novus
