Taking the Plunge

Well... It happened. The RBTA moved!

I don't know how she managed to move so quickly! Last night she was great, sleeping in her cave, today she is on the other side of the tank! I turned off the Koralia above her, just in case. I hope she decides to settle in somewhere else... because she isn't exactly in a visible place. I also worry about her being behind the clam. It's open and happy right now, so I won't stress it out with moving it unless I see that the RBTA is going to stay there.

Also, I got the results of my MRI today. The dx is a Bulging Disc. I'm starting PT Monday, hopefully that will do enough. The Tramadol is working wonders for pain management. I am not allowed to lift anything heavier than 10lbs, though. :( I'm gonna have to train Pete how to do water changes.
I'm glad to hear that your MRI results show that the pain can be chased away with Physio. I've had 2 MRI's in the last week and a half and have to wait until Sept 5th for the results on both of my knee's. My Nems moved twice since I got her 6 months ago. she moved the night I put her in the tank for the very first time, then again two months later she moved a little higher in the tank and a week later she split. The pair of them are now 2" apart and haven't moved in the past 4 months. I run twin 250w MH's on my tank and they both love too bask in the bright lights. they tend to move when they get irritated by something our are looking for better digs.

Lesya, I didn't mean to overlook your back problem. I hope you feel better and glad that you're finally putting your man to work!

We were on our way home from Cape Cod last Summer and made a stop over for the night right around the corner from you Schwe. We went to Howes cavern for the day and had a really good time. Have you ever gone down there for a look around?

Schwe girl, can I sleep over on the new comfy couch????? Very nice. Schwe.........can I have your clam? )

So as far as Nem moving advice.............................well, you know my deal, I ain't got nun! :( I wish I did, and someday hopefully will!!!

Yup. I think just about every kid in upstate NY has been on a field trip to Howes Cave. :D Did you take a tour? It's pretty neat, especially the story of how it was discovered.

Did you get your MRI images taken "in house"
or did you have to go to another location? If you had to have the images taken somewhere else, that would contribute to the delay. My specialist's office is huge and thy have their own MRI, CT and X-Ray machines, as well as PT. I had to wait a week for a 10 minute appointment for he Dr. to tell me it was a bulging disc and what activity restrctions I have, etc.

As for the nem, she stayed in the one spot for a few weeks, and now just suddenly decided to move. I just hope she doesn't leave a path of destruction in her wake! So far she has moved behind the rocks.

No, ma'am! Sorry. :( Although I'm so poor right now I might have to resort to pawning off some of my tank stuff.

Sorry Tim, my fat fingers must have somehow hit the unsubscribe button for your thread while I was on my iTouch... It happens all the time to me when in my user control panel. Hell, I've even done it with my own thread before!

I'll check it out when I have a chance to search for it.

Yup did the tour, heard the cow story, we all thought it was well worth the stop over in Albany.

We're not as lucky around our area for availability of MRI's. Most of them are located in Hospitals and I've never heard of a doctors office with his own 5 million dollar machine here...lol. They run the machines late into the night to keep up with appt's. I had to get both knee's done, one at a time and a week apart. I had to arrive at the Hospital in a nearby city at 10:00PM and got out of there at 11:30pm. If you want a daytime appt it takes longer. They say a min of 10 days for the results to be sent to the physician. They told me at the start of the test it would take 20 minutes to do the test...They lied.
The nem will probably hide for a day or two until it acclaimates to its new location. It should be out soon to bask in the bright lights real soon.

Geez, what are you, from Canada or something? So you live in a very rural area or small town? God, I couldn't imagine going at 10pm! My MRI was definitely longer than they told me, too. Definitely not for the claustrophobic folks... We have an open MRI in Colonie, which is in Albany county as well.

This is the nem before she moved. She has a gorgeous striped mouth. The specks on top of her are some kind of grit... I don't know if it is something she spits out or if it is just something that settles on her because she is so large... but the clowns dive in and "clean house," picking up the stuff and spitting it out into the water column.

This is where she moved to. Can't really appreciate her beauty when she's camped out back there! (that Koralia is currently unplugged)
