Talk about aquatic life mini skimmer 115

Was wondering about this thinking about buying this. The only equipment I need is a skimmer and maybe another powerhead. I am planning and will have a remote deep sand bed with Calera cheat and mangroves. This reef will have some spa corals and I will be feeding quit a a bit and probably a large bio load.

Tank is 29 gallon 20 high sump.

Good skimmer for the price. Majority of the time it produces a dark watery tea like substance. I do wish it was a little thicker. Maybe that's operator error and I need to tune it better. But nonetheless, it does the job as you can see in the below photos.

Ive used this skimmer on more than one setup. I currently have one on a 10g grow out tank. It sits inside an AC 70 with a little heater, so its out of the tank. It performs really well in my opinion for the price you pay... cant really beat it.

Most nano skimmers won't get you a thick dark skimmate like a bigger skimmer. It's just how it is, smaller tanks don't have as big a bio load, you don't feed as much(typically) and the skimmer itself isn't really capable due to size. It doesn't mean they aren't effective though they just tend to skim a little wetter by design.

I have one too and so far been happy with it. Pro tip: If you get one, cut a piece of 1/2" tubing to put over the knob. It makes it WAY easier to adjust (picked that tip up from someone's YouTube video). The little knob drove me nuts and it's one of the things I see people complain the most about in reviews. Also, just empty with a turkey baster, much easier than taking the cup off every time.

Haha... I believe you suggested the turkey baster thing in one of my posts. I swear that was like discovering fire. It was like a light bulb when off in my head.. so, thank you for that again. Another great idea regarding the knob. I've been pretty luck and haven't had to adjust it other then the first install. But, that knob is certainly a pain to turn.
