Tang doing cartwheels?

Why would my powder brown tang be doing cartwheels and acting all crazy?

something prolly effed up its swim bladder,99% of fish never recover from it

Please tell us about your tank, tank mates, water parameters, and how long you have had the tang and how long he has been exhibiting this behavior.

Yeah I agree with everyone above. Whenever I see fish start flipping around at work it usually ends with them dying. How long have you had it? Is/was it eating? Are your other fish ok, if you have any others?

Mine did that every now then for a long time, it was his way of saying put me a bigger tank. usually its bad sign though

Yes everyone else is fine i have only had him for two days ....and he has been eating and doing great....turned off lights earlier and went down few minutes ago and he started doing flips when i was down there......there is a keyhole angel, singapore angel, cleaner shrimp, Clown tang, and wrasse and goby

No quarrantine... Yikes. I agree that he has an internal parasite or infection and things don't look good. I would get him in a seperate tank and treat for the following:

Internal bacterial infections cause a build up of fluids in the fishes head, causing vertigo. If you were treating a number of fish, I would use neomycin at 250mg/10 gallons, along with chloramphenical at the same dosage. Repeat treatment regimen every second day for a total of three doses.

i believe he is on his way out and u should be ready for death. what kind of place did u get it from? only 2 days, i would bring back. was he getting along w/ other fish? sorry.

I had a hippo tang that did the same thing.

Got him from a BIG SUPPLIER (ONE OF BEST IF NOT THE BEST) He was doing great and getting along with all others as they were all introduced at same time....sucks to see him like this...wish i could do something for him!! Any ideas i will try anything? Think it is best just to leave him and see what happens? Quar? Think it could hurt other fish or give it to any other fish?

I agree with everyone else that he is probably on his way out. But did I read that correct, that you added 6 fish all at the same time? how big is your tank? 6 fish is a lot of fish to add at once and your biological filtration must be going crazy. How long has your tank been set up? what are your water parameters?

0 across the board and this is 300 gallons .... water is great and system is running fine it is a fish only tank with no rock
