Tang feeding

I just added a yellow minic tang to my 120 gallon reef tank. For the 3 weeks he was in QT and for the week he has been in the main tank, he will only eat seaweed. This guy will not touch any other type of food. I've been placing seaweed in the tank twice a day for him and he usually makes really short work of that. He also spends he day picking at the rocks but there is minimal algae for him and the dwarf angle and snails usually do a pretty good job of keeping the rocks clean. I have been soaking the seaweed in a marine fish vitamin supplements to try to ensure he is getting all the nutrients that he may need. But no matter what I try he won't eat any mysis or blood worms, even when I soak them in garlic.

I know these guys are herbivores, but should I be worried that he won't eat anything but seaweed ?

Set-up info:
The tank has been set up for about 9 months now, it's a 120 gallon with a 55 gallon sump and about 140 to 160 lbs of rock (tank +sump) . Water parameters are stable at 0 ammonia and nitrite, 1ppm of nitrate, 8.1 to 8.2 PH, dKH of 9.6, Cal at 450ppm, and Mag at 1300.

There are pellet, flake and frozen herbivore blends. Have you tried any of those? OSI spirulina flakes or pellets, Ocean Nutrition Formula Two for example.

I forgot to mention that I have tried NLS marine flakes, which is the staple food for all of his tank mates. No luck with it.

I will see if I can find the pellets and foods that you have suggest Sugar Magnolia and see if I have better luck with those.

If the tang won't eat them I know my clowns will as they will eat almost anything I put in the tank.

Thanks for the suggestions

He may be getting a lot of pods, etc, as he grazes. BTW, I really don't think 3 weeks is long enough in a QT. Three weeks is the bare minimum for ich to run its life cycle and many of these (and other) parasites can still be alive after 3 weeks.

How long do you QT your fish for Turkfish ?
I keep lengthening QT time, I go 10 weeks now. Snorvich has a great sticky that shows just how long ich can wait before it emerges as a free-swimmers I don't know if there is a ''time certain'', but the longer, the better, IMO. Also,I think fish are very comfortable and healthy in a decent QT; contrary to a lot of opinions that they need "friends" and real LR, etc. (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2041951)
