Hey everyone - need a little help on this.
I recently re-aquascaped my tank (2 or 3 weeks ago) and since then, my Kole tang has realized that it can see it's reflection in the side panels of the tank and isn't pleased. It's extended it's spines and is flashing the sides of the tank slapping it's tail on the glass.
Although it's stressed out, there is a little good news - there is no ich in the system. All fish have been fully quarantined as well as the display and no new fish added for quite some time. Additionally, it shows zero signs of aggression toward the other fish (including the other tang) and is eating decently from what I can see.
I've tried covering the side panels of the glass with the standard backing material sold at LFS, hung towels from the tank hoping to reduce any glare / reflection (the wife isn't too pleased to see stinky fish towels hanging from the tank BTW). Just last night, I added some etched vinyl sheeting to the sides to simulate an etched glass appearance - again hoping to eliminate any reflection or glare.
The weird part is - is that the side panels have always been visible to all fish, but since I rearranged everything, it's gone crazy. Reminds me of a cross between the damsel, Flo and Bubbles, the yellow tang on Nimo...
Thanks for any suggestions...
