tang ID

tang ID

I also have a mata tang but that looks very different. Mata tang doesn't have blue color on the body I think. I don't think this is a mata tang since this on looks very different from the mata tang I have.

Hmm.. My Mata was very blue in the body.. And it only developed the yellow as it matured and obtained it's streamers.. But it looked exactly like that in its transition stage(at maybe 5 to 6 inches). But as it fully matured, more and more of the yellow beauty came out.

It is difficult to say, but Google the Mata and other surgeons.. I think Mata that you are speaking of may be a little off color, as I have seen a few that were indeed purple tinted in their color also.. But the picture looks just like mine.. Exactly like him..

From note 5.. rip note 7

Ok so if this is mata then I want to know what the other one that I bought as mata tang. I will post the photo and lets see if any one is able to differentiate these species.
Thanks again Damon

Finally!

Finally!

OK, SO FINALLY I think I was able to ID this. It is Acanthurus Bahianus. This one was caught at 80 feet deep.

Thanks everyone for the help.
