Tang in trouble

I woke up this morning and found my blue hippo tang covered in what looks like lint. The other livestock look fine. Any thoughts?

what color is this "lint" and was there any change in the tank in the past week?

ie:
colder temp
new additions
a big change in a parameter such as ammonia

The lint is white and he was fine yesterday. No changes . The water temp is 78.2 but has been running 80.1

Does it look like grains of sand or salt? Sounds like it might be ick.

+1 on the ick... Do a google search to see what ich would look like on fishes and see if its a match. If it is ick... i strongly recommend kick-ick... It has worked miracles every time i used it.

... THIS LOOKS LIKE PEELING SKIN.
Could be mucus hyperproduction. Is there a concentration around the gills?
