Tang pimples

Man, I'm so bummed. Yesterday my hippo had a single white bump on each side. Interesting that they were exactly symmetric. Not the fins "sugar" ich look I'd seen before.

Today the purple had 2 bumps on one side.

Aaaargh. Anything other than ich it's likely to be? I'm so bummed.

240g display tank. 2 prs clowns, firefish, basslet, chromis all ok. (so far)

All fish spent 5 weeks in cupramine before joining the tank.

Last fish added was a chromis and percula after cupramine, added about a week ago. I guess an anemone from an LFS was added without qt.

I don't think I have room in QT to move all the fish there even if I COULD trap them.

Starting the garlic and prayers...

Any thoughts appreciated. (except "why didn't you do 6 weeks in qt instead of 5?!??!" Already asking myself that one)

Well, probably the anemone had ick on it even though they can't get sick off of it, but for now if possible you may just want to quarentine the sick fish and give the anemone a dip of some sort to get the disease off, rather than atempting to catch all the fish and if more fish get sick, that means the ick was able to spread throughout the system and then you have a problem, but for now you may just want to try to localize the disease instead of assuming the ick has bred enough to spread in the tank

No rock. Not sure it's related. I also siphoned the tank and stirred up some debris, who knows what's related.

I put the fish trap in there to let them start getting used to eating out of it in case... I don't think I have room to QT them all...

If ick was introduced to the tank just QT'ing the 2 tangs will not get rid of it. Need to have no fish in the display for 6 to 8 weeks. I would do 8 weeks to be sure. Might have to get a bigger QT tank like a 40gal and treat all fish.

I have a 40 and a 20 QT. Doubt I could catch them all! purple, hippo, kole, yellow tangs, black cap basslet, 2 prs clowns, firefish..... bluejaw trigger in QT already. arrgh.

:)

Getting them used to eating out of the trap in case I go that route.

I'm still having bouts of these bumps come and go. They appear very quickly; and clear quickly too. The fish look fine at night for example and have a dozen or two pimples the next morning. not "grain of salt".

Then they may be gone by evening. or mostly gone. So far it's only tangs affected. hippo, kole, purple. yellow seems spared. seems faster than I've read for ich. yellow once had lymphocystis and it took months to drop off the fins, not a day..

Any idea what this could be?!?!? Some things seem non-ich-like. Am I wrong?

I don't want to try to catch all the fish and set up QT for 2 months if that's not the right treatment. I may buy a microscope and scrape a pimple...

Can you take some kind of photo of the worst one? I know its a pane but lots of others will help if you take a photo

Those are the best I could get. I'll try for better ones next time (unfortunately I bet there will be a next time)

Nobody seems confident "ich or not ich"...
