the regal tang looked good friday, saturday, and sunday morning.

monday morning is covered in white, doesnt want to swim, is laying flat (instead of swimming vertically), and has labored breathing.

temp is 76 (moving back to 78, a/c malfunction was either totally on or totally off...), good circulation with a HOB filter running full speed for gas exchange only, 0 ammonia (as of lunch time, testing twice a day), 1.015, ph 8.1, not testing anything else yet.

i dosed kelated copper per instructions on the bottle (i think it worked out to 1 ounce per 20 gallons).

i'm thinking about doing a 5 minute f/w dip while i clean and replace all the water in the tank.

thoughts? idea?

I recommend sticking with the copper treatment.

Don't try to do too many things at once or change things too quickly. I don't know if your fish can tolerate a fresh water dip at such a condition.

Sounds like velvet, I lost an entire tank of fish to it and ended up running fallow for two months just to be sure. I certainly hope your luck is better than mine.

Losing the fish was tough, but I'm only out a few hours of QT work and some water and $1.50 worth of copper...I think right now I'd be crying drunk if I lost my clowns!!!

QT for all...

I lost all of my fish about a month ago, I'm going without fish for 6 to 8 months. This may be overkill, but I don't want this to happen again.
