Tangs- Can I ?

I have a yellow tang in the QT tank. I was going to add both a yellow tang and kole tang to the QT at the same time which is a biocube 29 for my QT tank.

The LFS advised me not to b/c it wasn't sufficient room for them. I also didn't like any of the kole tang's they had at that point time as they wouldn't eat when I asked the LFS to feed them while i was there.

I would still like to be able to add a kole tang after the yellow tang is put into the DT. Is this something that everyone feels will work out or with the yellow tang generally be too agressive towards the kole tang.

The yellow tang in the QT is the only fish in there and he def seems to have aggression towards his own reflection.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sort of depends on your tank and the fish. In general, you want to add all of your tangs at the same time but I honestly dont think you'll have a problem as long as you have plenty of space and grazing for both. I added a bristletooth to my 300 gallon which already contained 2 yellow tangs. Neither tang had been in the tank very long (they were added from an upgrade so maybe they'd had 6 weeks before the BT was added) and I never had any trouble.
Good luck!

the DT is a 150 gallon. Currently there are only 2 ocellaris clowns in the DT . The yellow tang will go into the DT in about 4 more weeks after the QT period. My goal is to then get a kole tang , QT for 7 weeks then add to the DT. Just worried the yellow tang isn't going to like having him there.

It really depends on the size of the fish and the show tank you have. Kole and other soft belly fish tend to get beat up/ scarred up very easily. They should be fine if they have enough room to roam once established. I wouldn't put them together unless you have a 55 or bigger for a yellow and a kole about 3inches long.
