I think you have to many tangs. Look in to wrasses if you like tangs. They are very bold colors, like being in the open and many are reef safe.

That's because they are still small. If you are going to keep them long term, the hippos in particular will be come a big problem. Also noticed u have a PBT, very aggressive and will become territorial. Problematic when adding more.

I have 2 yellows, a naso, a sailfin, and a yellow belly hippo for about a year now in a 180 with a lot of open swimming room. With the exception of the naso, they all came from the same tank. Previous owner had them together for a couple years. I'm starting to have some aggression issues with one of the yellows and the hippo is annoyed with the presence of the naso. No major issues as of yet but I'm going to get rid of one of the yellows and the naso and replace with a purple. Originally I had a purple in with the group but lost him to paravortex. No guarantee that the purple won't step up and dominate the existing yellow and sailfin.. heck even my coris wrasse gives the sailfin a hard time on occasion.
I think you're setting yourself up for failure. Unless you have an oversized skimmer, you wont be able to keep up with the nutrient load. Speaking from experience my nitrates were over 50 when I started. Took several months to get them back down below 10. You might be fine early on but I can guarantee you'll have aggression issues.

Don't worry. The impending ich outbreak will definetely reduce the numbers of this tang gang.

You obviously don't care about what these people are telling you.... they know what they are talking about. Take their advice. Get rid of most of the tangs in that tank that need more swimming room. Then get a smaller tang. Like a kole or tomini. Both are very active and can be kept in your tank... your going to lose all these fish one way or another. Either by disease or aggressiveness. So do your self a favor and sell them before its to late
