I'd say the tomini is roughly 3in. He has been in the DT for about 3 to 4 months. He is a bit aggressive but I've heard that purple tangs can hold their own.
The purple will be fine just QT it and get it eating well and often. When you do add the purple just leave the lights off for 24-48hrs and you should have no problems
Ok thanks. Im not adding one rite away but i was just wondering for future reference because im looking into getting one. Thanks for all the help, when and if i do get one ill let you know how it goes.
My experience is that purple tangs are very aggressive. Once in the 150g mine killed within minutes any fish I attempted to introduce. Ended up trading it for a different fish. I have owned two purples and the other wasn't much better.
Purples are known to be very aggressive, however if you add him properly then you should be fine. By properly I mean, add him as close to the end as possible(preferably the last addition). Try to get one smaller then the tomini which is not overly aggressive. Feed them a little extra then normal for the first few days. Do these things and you should have no issues at all. I love my purple and would always recommend them to someone that has an adequate size tank
